As part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ efforts to restore the upward trajectory of domestic natural gas production, enhance market supplies and reduce imports, petroleum sector companies have successfully added 45 MMcf/d of natural gas, in addition to 540 b/d of condensates, through bringing three new wells onstream and restarting a fourth well following its repair. The additions were achieved across production areas in the Western Desert, the Gulf of Suez and the onshore Nile Delta.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources emphasized that the return of investments to their targeted levels, following the settlement of outstanding dues owed to partners, is directly reflected in drilling and development programs. This is contributing to bringing new wells onstream, as well as the restart of previously shut-in wells due to insufficient spending, thereby supporting efforts to boost domestic natural gas production.

The Ministry pointed out that the new additions were achieved as follows:

* Khalda Petroleum Company : SKAL-2 well in the West Kalabsha area of the Western Desert was brought onstream at a rate of approximately 12 MMcf/d.

* Amal Petroleum Company (AMAPETCO): Amal-23 A ST well in the Gulf of Suez was returned to production after completion of repair operations, at a rate of approximately 15 Mmcf/d.

* Onshore Nile Delta : Ezz-2 well was brought onstream at a rate of approximately 10 MMcf/d of gas, in addition to around 460 b/d of condensates.

* Disouq Petroleum Company (PETRODISOUQ): Production commenced from MA-1X well at a rate of approximately 8 MMcf/d of gas, in addition to around 80 b/d of condensates.
