The General Petroleum Company Succeeds in Putting Two Offshore Wells on Production with a Total of about 1000 Barrels per Day

On 29th Nov.2024, as part of his visit to Ras Gharib area in the Red Sea Governorate, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, followed up the work of the MDC4 onshore drilling rig of the Modern Drilling Company, which is currently drilling a production development well "Gharib Well 277" of the General Petroleum Company, and is planned to be put on production within two weeks after the completion of drilling work at a production rate of about 200 barrels per day. Badawi reviewed the new ideas and modern technologies to intensify drilling work, and the number of drilling rigs needed to work in the area, taking into account rationalizing spending without compromising the production process, as well as managing oil tanks with a mechanism that achieves optimal utilization, extending thanks and appreciation to all workers on the site.

 The Minister was briefed on the company's current and future work programs, as Eng. Mohamed Abdel Majeed, Chairman of the Company, explained that the company succeeded in putting the new offshore production platform GG 83/3 on production after completing the platform construction works and establishing production facilities and a production line to connect to the nearest offshore platform. The first two wells have been put on production with a total of about 1,000 barrels of oil per day, and the third well is being drilled, as it is planned to drill two wells on the same platform so that the planned production from the new platform reaches about 2,200 barrels per day over the next 3 months.
