Minister of Petroleum Witnesses the Signing of Three Agreements with the Fujairah Emirate

​A Meeting between the Minister of Petroleum and the Director of the Emiri Diwan of Fujairah

On 2nd October 2025, the project aims at developing El Hamra Port within the framework of cooperation and integration with the Fujairah Oil Producing Corporation. It will also contribute to transferring experiences, including enhancing its efficiency and elevating it to international standards.

The project represents one of the pillars for implementing the axis of regional cooperation and reinforcing Egypt's role as a regional hub for energy trading, in line with the MoP's strategy, which aims to reinforce international partnerships in this sector and maximize the economic benefit from Egypt's infrastructure and strategic geographical location.

Both sides signed a contract for the storing of crude oil in facilities of El-Hamra Petroleum Port in New Alamein. The agreement aims to maximize the economic benefits and returns from Egypt's infrastructure, in line with the second pillar of the MoPMR's strategy as well as leveraging the port's unique location and advanced infrastructure to position it as a strategic hub for crude oil storage and transportation.

A commercial agreement was also signed for supplying the petroleum products to the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

Subsequent to signing, both sides held a meeting where, the Minister highlighted Egypt's aspiration to implement strategic projects that will Egypt-UAE enhance cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

For his part, H.E. the Director of the Emiri Diwan of Fujairah highlighted the UAE side's keenness to invest in the Egyptian energy market and to implement long-term strategic projects that reflect the strength of the fraternal relations between Egypt and the UAE.

 

The Minister was accompanied by Eng. Salah Abdel Karim, Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC); Eng. Wael Lofty, Undersecretary for Projects at the Ministry; Dr. Mohamed El-Bagoury, Head of Central Administration for Legal Affairs at the Ministry; and Eng. Ibrahim Massoud, Chairman of Western Desert Operating Petroleum Company (WEPCO).
