On 14th August 2025, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum, received Mr. Arthur Regan, CEO of Energos Infrastructure a global energy infrastructure company, to review ongoing cooperation between the petroleum sector and the company in the LNG import infrastructure domain, through Floating Storage and Regasification Units FSRUs that recently acquired and operated to receive LNG imports and pump them into the national grid to meet domestic demands.
During the meeting, the Minister appreciated the cooperation with the company, asserting that Egypt had succeeded, in a record time, in establishing a strong infrastructure for LNG imports with a capacity up to 2.25 bcf per day, through integrated efforts and full commitment to safety standards.
Eng. Karim stressed on Egypt's Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly's, great governmental support to follow up the preparations of the FSRUs to accelerate the operational cycle and to reassure the State's interest in all of the strenuous efforts done in this strategic project.
For his part, Regan appreciated the partnership with Egypt, affirming that the achievements of the previous four months surpass global expectations, as Egypt has succeeded in developing an expanded LNG import infrastructure in record time within a distinct partnership. He praised the Minister's excessive visits to the sites, in addition to his ongoing follow ups for pushing forward the implementation process, and the full commitment to this partnership with Egypt.
