Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, participated in the official inauguration of the fifth edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF). The event is hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its capital, Riyadh, from January 13 to 15, under the theme: "Minerals for a New Era of Development."

The forum was inaugurated by Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, with extensive participation of mining ministers and global mining investment leaders.

FMF is considered one of the most important international platforms in the mining sector, attracting around 20,000 participants, in addition to ministers and officials from countries around the world, and 400 CEOs and leaders of international mining companies and financial institutions, as well as representatives of mining-related industries. The forum addresses the challenges and future opportunities and supports the growth of the sector, whose importance has increased in recent years as it is related to strategic industries and green and renewable energy.

Eng. Karim Badawi is scheduled to participate today as a keynote speaker in a main panel of FMF, in addition to a showcase session to encourage investment in the Egyptian mining sector. During these sessions, the Minister will highlight the legislative reforms implemented to attract investors, the application of competitive models for gold and mineral exploitation, and the approval of incentive packages for exploration companies, as well as facilitating licensing procedures and the utilization of Egypt's rich geological potential and the robust, integrated infrastructure established under the leadership of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
