Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with Mr. Pascal Breant, Managing Director of TotalEnergies in Egypt and Cyprus, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and the existing partnership in the natural gas domain, in addition to the updates of the project of connecting the Cypriot Cronos gas field to the Egyptian infrastructure, in partnership with Eni.
During the meeting, the Minister followed up on the status of cooperation between the Egyptian and Cypriot sides and the companies participating in the field, to identify the next steps to start implementing this vital regional gas transport project, as it is a model for integration in maximizing the utilization of gas resources and available infrastructure, enhancing Egypt's position as a regional hub for gas trade.
