On 8th Dec.2024, on behalf of Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Moataz Atef, Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Minister's Office, Technical Office and official spokesperson, participated in the 26th Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Tehran, the Iranian capital.
The opening session was headed by Eng. Mohsen Paknejad, Iranian Minister of Petroleum, with the participation of a number of ministers and heads of delegations representing the Forum's country members.
During his speech, Eng. Moataz Atef reviewed the most significant challenges confronting the gas industry, in light of the current economic and regional crises and asserted the importance of cooperation between the Forum's country members for confronting these challenges.
He also pointed out the continued global need to natural gas during the coming period, especially the increasing energy demand for artificial intelligence, which confirms the critical role of gas, even during the energy transition phase.
