Egypt - U.S Talks on Expanding Investments in the East Mediterranean

On the sidelines of his participation in the ADIPEC 2025 in Abu Dhabi, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with Mr. Doug Burgum, U.S. Secretary of the Interior and Chairman of the National Energy Council. Both sides discussed ways to enhance Egypt and U.S. strategic partnership in the energy domain.
During the meeting, they discussed avenues for providing technical support, financing, and the transfer of expertise to Egypt in various energy sectors, as well as enhancing the investments of U.S. companies operating in Egypt, particularly ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Apache.
They reviewed the regional cooperation to maximize the utilization of natural gas resources in the East Mediterranean and to leverage Egypt’s infrastructure to process and re-export these resources to global markets.
