On 3rd November 2025, on the sidelines of his participation in the ADIPEC 2025 Conference and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held a series of bilateral meetings with chairmen and CEOs of leading international energy companies.
During his meeting with Mr. Olivier Le Peuch, Chairman and CEO of SLB, they focused on preparatory steps to implement the OBN advanced seismic survey project in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Moreover, during meeting with Mr. Murray Auchincloss, CEO of BP, Eng. Karim Badawi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the company’s longstanding partnership, describing BP as a key strategic partner.
The Minister also met with Mr. Jeff Miller, CEO of Halliburton, they discussed the latest technologies applied by the company in well drilling, hydrocarbon production, and enhanced oil and gas recovery, as well as ways to apply these technologies in Egypt to boost production, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
Eng. Badawi further held talks with Mr. Lorenzo Simonelli, CEO of Baker Hughes, where they reviewed the outcomes of their recent meeting during the Energy Conference in London, aiming to expand areas of cooperation.
In addition, the Minister met with a high-level delegation from Huawei, where discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in digital transformation within the petroleum sector, particularly through the use of artificial intelligence and digital field management systems.
At the conclusion of the meetings, the Minister invited the international company leaders to participate in the Egypt International Energy Conference (EGYPES 2026) to be held next year.
