On 1st May 2025, Eng. Karim Badawi, met with the leadership of the General Union of Mines and Quarries to discuss collaboration in developing the mining sector—an essential pillar of Egypt's economic future.
The Minister asserted on the significance of joint efforts, aiming at increasing the sector's contribution to the national GDP from 0.5% to 6%, aligning with Egypt's strategic development goals. He also highlighted the Ministry's six-pillar strategy, which includes localizing mining industries, attracting investment, and transforming Egypt into a regional hub through infrastructure and strategic partnerships.
He extended his appreciation to the General Union delegation for their continued commitment to workforce empowerment and sector advancement, asserting their contributions to build a more competitive, sustainable, and resilient mining industry in Egypt.
