On 26th Sep.2024, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, participated in the activities of the Ministerial meeting of the BRICS member countries, which was held in the Russian capital, Moscow, during the meetings of the BRICS Energy Group, on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week activities held during the period, 26th- 28th Sep., 2024.
The Ministerial meeting tackled the development of the energy sectors of the BRICS countries, and areas of priority for cooperation on the medium term, within the framework of the upcoming extension of the energy roadmap for cooperation of the BRICS countries, in light of the expansion of the BRICS group to include more members. The results of the BRICS group activities were also reviewed within the framework of the BRICS Energy Research Cooperation Platform.
Following the Ministerial meeting, the Minister took part in the Plenary Session of the International Forum at Energy Week as a guest of honor, along with the other energy Ministers of the BRICS member states, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of Equatorial Guinea.
