On 13th February 2022, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, inaugurated Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2022) Conference and Exhibition in its 5th edition, during 14 -16 February 2022, under the theme "North Africa and the Mediterranean : Delivering Energy Today ", with national and international participation of Petroleum and Energy Ministers, as well as Heads and Executive Officers of national companies, IOCs, international oil and gas organizations, in addition to the petroleum industry experts. It is considered the most significant international and regional gathering in the oil and gas industry domain in North Africa and the Mediterranean.
Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, clarified that the success of organizing this event in the previous editions, enhanced the current one, by attracting more international participations for achieving optimum benefit for the oil and gas industry in Egypt, aiming at attracting more national and international investments by presenting the significant reforms and success stories, as well as highlighting on the promising potentials of investment in this industry. He affirmed that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's keenness of inaugurating this Conference annually, is a clear message of reflects Egypt's support for this vital sector, which increases investors' confidence.
He added that the current version of EGYPS 2022 is attracting special great importance, in light of the current period requirements of coordination and communication of Egypt with all regional and international parties, for the success of COP27 Summit, which will be hosted in Sharm El Sheikh this year. El Molla highlighted that the precautionary measures for confronting COVID-19 will be applied effectively and accurately, a line with all the successful regional and international events that the region witnessed recently, for the safety of all participants.
