On 10th March 2022, Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources asserted that Egypt's Strategy for enhancing regional and international companies in energy domains, during the recent years, contributed to securing energy in Egypt and the region, creating a vital market for natural gas in East Mediterranean and increasing demands for its supplies.
This came during the panel discussion with the Minister entitled (the Role of the Regional and International Partnership for Accelerating the Energy Transition in Egypt), within the activities of CERAWeek International Energy Conference, held in Houston, Texas, organized by S&P Global from 7 to 11 March 2022.
During the panel, El Molla, reviewed the current status and challenges confronting the international gas market, pointing Egypt's vital role in exporting LNG to the European market.
El Molla also discussed the current role of EMGF in enhancing the regional cooperation and developing gas potentials in the regional countries.
El Molla clarified Egypt's strategy for transferring to clean energy, depending on achieving sustainability and a gradual energy transition, on top of which is natural gas as a clean fuel, as well as increasing the contribution to renewable energies in the energy mix and hydrogen production domain.
