Scientific research in the petroleum , gas , and petrochemicals Industry

Scientific research is considered to be one of the most important strategic targets of the petroleum sector for its positive effect in increasing production, making full use of available power, upgrading the product quality , and raising the level of economic growth and individual standard of living in Egypt. There are many successful patterns of co operation between the ministry of petroleum and the universities and centers of scientific research .Among them are:

	Co operation Protocol between the Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of State for Scientific Research to make laboratories and research institutes to enrich local manufacturing of tools and other items instead of importing them from abroad .
	Co operation Protocol between the Ministry of Petroleum and the Faculties of Engineering at Cairo and Alexandria universities to make use of potentialities , experts and talents available for both sides and make full use of them in all aspects of the Petroleum Industry plus supporting and encouraging scientific research and development .

	Co-operation with The Egyptian Society for Applied Petrophysics, participating in its conferences held in the national research center plus, participating in its research with practical experience .
	The existing co operation Protocol between the Ministry of petroleum and Petronas Company of Malaysia . According to this protocol, 20 distinguished Egyptian secondary school graduates are selected on yearly obtain for a scholarship from Petronas University(UTP) to obtain the bachelor degree in different engineering branches.
	Co operation with Northern Alberta Institute of technology in Canada to establish a specialized entity for training technical cadres of engineers and technicians to keep pace with up-to-date technologies required for new giant petroleum projects .
	Co operation with the French university in Cairo in the petroleum, gas and petrochemicals industry fields.
	Co ordination is underway now with Colorado university for mines in America to support petroleum and mineral resources sectors through providing it with the modern training courses in exploration , tanks and mining , plus qualifying Egyptian cadres at the highest level in this important fields of industry .
