On 23rd December 2018, Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources headed Egypt's delegation, participating in the 101st Ministerial Conference of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), held in Kuwait and chaired by Eng. Suhail Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of the Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Algeria, Qatar, as well as the secretary-general of OAPEC, Abbas al-Naqi.
Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that the Conference is significant to activate the means of cooperation among the Arab countries in the oil and gas industry, based on mutual benefit, enhancing the Arab integration in this vital industry and achieving common benefits. It is also an opportunity for discussion and exchanging views concerning development and prices of the global petroleum markets.
The Arab Minsters participating in the conference discussed the topics in their agenda; in addition, they decided to hold the next conference in Kuwait on 22nd December 2019.
On the sidelines of the meeting, El Molla held bilateral talks with the Arab Ministers of Petroleum participating in the Ministerial Conference, during which they discussed available opportunities of cooperation between Egypt and the Arab countries in the oil and gas domains.
